GB : des caméras de surveillance pour humilier publiquement les contrevenants

Les Britanniques sont toujours à l'avant-garde dans le domaine de la vidéosurveillance. La ville de Middlesbrough vient d'installer 7 nouvelles caméras équipées de haut-parleur.
Les employés municipaux peuvent ainsi s'adresser directement aux contrevenants depuis la centrale de vidéosurveillance, elle-même reliée au commissariat local.
"La voix s'adresse par exemple à quelqu'un qui jette un papier et dit: La personne en blouson vert pourrait-elle ramasser ce qu'elle a jeté?", explique Barry Coppinger, un conseiller municipal pour qui "c'est une espèce d'humiliation publique, mais cela signifie que les gens ne recommenceront plus".
Les premiers résultats enregistrés depuis août seraient encourageants.
Le système a coûté 50.000 livres (74.000 euros) à cette ville qui posséde déjà le réseau le plus dense de caméras de vidéosurveillance en Grande-Bretagne.
